Christophe Grégoire (born April 20, 1980 in Liège ) is a former Belgian football player and current coach .
Career
The left midfielder comes from the youth department of the RFC Liège . From there he moved to Excelsior Mouscron in July 2000 , where he began his professional career.
During the winter break of the 2004/05 season, Grégoire left Excelsior to join the top Belgian club RSC Anderlecht . In Anderlecht, however, he only stayed half a season before moving to KAA Gent in July 2005 . In the 2006/07 season, Grégoire was the best goal setter in the 1st division with 16 assists .
In May 2007, Christophe Grégoire was about to move to Arminia Bielefeld , which failed, however. In January 2008 Grégoire moved to Willem II Tilburg in the Netherlands, from where he was loaned to the RSC Charleroi from January to July 2009 . In the 2009/10 season he was back for Tilburg on the field and decided to return to his home country after 20 league games and five goals. There he briefly joined the RSC Charleroi in the winter of 2010 after being out of a club for about six months, but left it again in the summer of 2011. This entailed another four months of being out of a club, which Grégoire only did after switching to the lower class Club (Royal) Sprimont Comblain Sport finished in November 2011. Until 2014, Grégoire played for the club from Belgium's fourth-highest football league and even made it to the third division with the team. After some time as a player, he was promoted to the office of coach at Sprimont Comblain Sport in April 2014 after the previous coach, former Belgian international Didier Ernst , had to resign earlier than previously announced due to poor performance. After taking over the coaching position of the third division team, he also resigned his engagement as a player in order to devote himself more to his work as a football coach. Since 2016 he has been the trainer of third division RFC Seraing .
With the Belgian U-21 team, Christophe Grégoire took part in the U-21 European Championship 2002 in Switzerland . On October 13, 2007, Grégoire made his debut for the Belgian national football team in the game against Liechtenstein . After that, he completed another international match in the same year and was then no longer considered for the national team.
