Christopher I. Beckwith

Christopher I. Beckwith (* 1945 ) is Professor of Central Eurasian Studies at Indiana University in Bloomington , Indiana . He received his BA in Chinese from Ohio State University in 1968, his MA in Tibetan from Indiana University's Department of Uralic and Altaic Studies in 1974, and his Ph.D. in 1977. in Inner Asian Studies from Indiana University. He is particularly interested in the early history of Central Asia and the early ethnolinguistic history of Centraleurasia and east asia .

In 1986 he became a MacArthur Fellow .
