Jamar McNaughton Jr (born October 10, 1992 ), better known as Chronixx , is a Jamaican reggae artist. The stage name is derived from "Little Chronicle", a modification of the stage name of his father "Chronicle", a well-known dub and reggae singer.

Along with artists such as Dre Island , Jah Bouks , Jah9 , Protoje , Kelissa , Jesse Royal , Keznamdi and Kabaka Pyramid , Chronixx is one of the most important representatives of the reggae revival.

Musical career

Chronixx grew up in a musical family and began writing music as a child. At the age of 14, he first produced riddims for other artists such as Konshens .

Since 2009 he has also been writing songs for himself. He achieved great fame in 2012 when radio stations in Jamaica picked up his music and he then appeared at all major festivals. In 2013 he was featured on the Major Lazer mixtape Start a Fire .

He now has a sizeable fan base in the USA, Europe and Africa. On July 22nd, 2014 he appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and gave a concert in New York's Central Park. In his music Chronixx addresses Rastafarianism, Jamaica and the social and political problems of the country, but also love and relationships.
