Chu Tan Cuong ( Vietnamese Chu Tấn Cường , * in Hanoi in the early 1960s ) is a Vietnamese grandmaster in Kung Fu.

Life

At the age of four, Chu Tan Cuong began to practice Asian martial arts. At the same time his musical training began.

He started boxing when he was seven, with his brother Chu Tan Chau for two years. He later noticed that the use of different foot techniques makes martial arts really fun and effective. He then learned different styles from Karate , Vinhxuan, Taekwondo , Chinese Kung Fu to Vietnamese Kung Fu. Most intensively he trained the style “ Nam Hồng Sơn ” from the grandmaster and founder “Sau To” and was allowed to train directly with this grandmaster and his son, Nguyen Van Ty.

New style

After a long process, he developed a new style that is tailored to European anatomy. Until 1993 this style was called "Vo Vi Nam". After the 1st Vietnam tour in 1993 with 25 students, he changed the name to " Vo Dao Vietnam " ( Vietnamese Võ Đạo Việt Nam ) for various reasons, including to differentiate it from the traditional Vovinam .

With his brother Chu Tan Chau he was on the show Wetten dass ..? For the first time in 1995 . . Later he was on this show three times, including with his son David. His spectacular bets made people aware of him in Spain, Holland and Belgium and invited him to similar television programs in these countries. Private German broadcasters such as RTL, SAT 1, Pro 7 and RTL 2 also repeatedly report on his extraordinary campaigns. On April 8, 2001, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the show, he appeared in the Italian edition of "Wetten dass ... ???" in Rome.

In October 2000, the grandmaster and his team of 33 German colleagues undertook a three-week tour through his home country Vietnam, the "Vietnam Tour".

World record

Since 1995 he has set twelve records, 8 of them Guinness and 4 world records, which are based on his martial arts and especially on his breathing technique. The breathing technique, through which one can not only generate energy but also use it sensibly, is regularly practiced together with his second oldest sister Hang Forker (née Chu Thi Thu Hang). She uses this to the full extent in her work as an alternative practitioner in order to be able to help her patients effectively.

He is also active together with double Olympic marathon winner Waldemar Cierpinski as an ambassador for a “solidarity project” for the reconstruction of the Vietnamese village Ái Tử . Grandmaster Chu Tan Cuong lives with his family near Halle an der Saale .
