Ina Ruck (born June 3, 1962 in Unna ) is a German journalist . She is the correspondent for Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR).

Life

After Ruck graduated from the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium Unna , she studied Slavic Studies , Political Science and Journalism at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . She also had study visits to the Pushkin Institute in Moscow , the University of Vienna and Oxford University . She completed her studies in 1989 with the academic degree Magister Artium .

From 1990 to 1992 she completed a traineeship at Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) including a stay at ARD. In 1993 she worked as an editor and reporter for the ARD morning magazine , including in the ARD studio in Moscow . In 1994 she received a journalism scholarship from ABC in Boston .

From 1995 to 2000 Ruck worked as a television correspondent in the ARD studio in Moscow. From 2001 to 2004 she was an editor and reporter at WDR in the Politics and Current Affairs program group with correspondent representation in the ARD studios Moscow and Washington, DC From 2005 to 2007 Ruck was a television correspondent at the ARD studio Moscow. After a one and a half year stint in the ARD studio in Washington as a correspondent for the ARD morning magazine, she returned in November 2008 as head of the ARD studio in Moscow (see Russia reporting in Germany ). In April 2014, Ruck handed over the management of the ARD studio in Moscow to Udo Lielischkies . Then she worked as a foreign reporter for the WDR in Cologne. From July 2015 to July 2017, Ruck was the director of the ARD studio in Washington. After the regular change of studio management to Stefan Niemann , Ina Ruck works as a correspondent for foreign and security policy for the WDR in Cologne.
