The municipality of Chuanshan ( Chinese  船 山区 , Pinyin Chuánshān Qū ) is a municipality in the prefecture -level city of Suining in southwest China 's Sichuan Province . It has an area of ​​616 km² and has around 697,000 inhabitants (2019). It is the political, economic and cultural center of Suining.

The municipality is located in the middle of the Sichuan Basin between Chengdu and Chongqing , both cities are about 130 km away. This will make the city district an important traffic junction between the two cities. The Fu Jiang flows through the municipality for 67 km. Chuanshan has been known as a county or district since the Eastern Jin Dynasty 1,600 years ago.

Famous natural and cultural landmarks such as Longfeng Old Town (龙凤 古镇), Lotus Park (世界 荷花 博览园), Jiulianzhou Wetland (九莲 洲 生态 湿地公园), and Shili are located in the area of ​​the city He Hua (十里 荷 画, "ten-meter lotus painting"). The Guangde Temple (广 德 寺, guǎngdé sì) is on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .

Agriculture produces pigs, vegetables and herbs for traditional Chinese medicine. Chuanshan is famous for growing Siberian angelica .

There are natural gas and salt deposits in the municipality.

Administrative structure

At the municipality level, the municipality is made up of 15 street districts, seven large municipalities and five municipalities.These are:

  • Greater community Yongxing (永兴镇)

In 2003 the division was established at the district level. The Nianqian community was called Longfeng (龙凤 镇) until 2010. Nanqian and Jinjiagou streets were separated from Fuyuan streets in 2013 and 2018, respectively.
