Cianopramine ( INN ) is an organic chemical compound belonging to the azepine group . It is used as a drug belonging to the group of tricyclic antidepressants .

Cianopramine is related to imipramine and like this acts as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor and as a weak antagonist at the 5-HT receptor . In contrast to the antidepressants from the amitriptyline group, it has a less pronounced anticholinergic effect.
