Circuit de Lignières

Circuit de Lignières is a permanent race track in Lignières in Switzerland .

The facility has been used as a driver training center by the Touring Club Schweiz (TCS), the largest traffic club in Switzerland, since 2004 . Today's circuit with a length of around 1,350 meters has a circular path with a sliding surface. There are also courses for quad and off-road on the site .

history

The racetrack was planned in the 1960s by Robert Souaille around two kilometers northeast of the city of Lignières and built by the Swiss automotive engineer Hansmarkus Huber. Racer legends such Jo Siffert , Clay Regazzoni and the team world champion Rolf Biland with Kurt Waltisperg contributed significantly to the history at this track. In 1998 the privately operated facility was closed.

In 2003 TCS bought the site at auction, renovated the route and expanded the facility. The racing competition for the TCS SuperMoto Swiss Championship has been held there every year since 2008 . In 2014 an international racing festival was held in August .
