Aeródromo de El Berriel is an airfield in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana in the south of the island of Gran Canaria .
The airfield is located directly on the coast around one kilometer east of the Tarajalillo district and eleven kilometers from Maspalomas . The Aeródromo de El Berriel is approved for civil aviation under VFR conditions.
Facilities
On the site there are hangars, a maintenance hall, a petrol station, the office of the aero club and the flight control tower as well as a restaurant with five halls with a total capacity for 500 people.
There is also a flight school at the airfield that trains private and professional pilots.

The 4.4-kilometer Circuito Maspalomas motorsport racing track with a covered grandstand is also located on the site of the airfield . The route consists of 5 right and 10 left bends and is driven counter-clockwise.
Trivia
A former Swissair aircraft with the factory number c / n 45553/1038 is in the outdoor area. The former HB-IBP flew as the canton “Schwyz” from 1958 to 1962 in regular service and was the last Douglas DC-7C model made . The aircraft was later sold to SAS , then to JAL and was last used by Spantax with the registration number EC-BBT until 1976.
