Cirque de Navacelles

The Cirque de Navacelles is a large karformation in Occitania in the south of France, south of the Massif Central , which was created by erosion. It is located near Saint-Maurice-Navacelles in the Hérault .
The cirque is located in the area of the Causses and the Cevennes , in 2011 the basin received the UNESCO award as a cultural heritage of mankind. There is a public botanical educational trail near the village of Navacelles.
The Cirque de Navacelles is quite remote in the Languedoc hinterland and can be reached from the south via the A75 . With the opening of the Viaduc de Millau , the journey has been significantly shortened and tourism has become noticeably stronger.
