The Giuseppe Citterio Salumificio SpA is an international Italian food manufacturers . The family company based in Rho near Milan produces Italian meat specialties such as salami , Parma ham and San Daniele ham , Mortadella and Bresaola della Valtellina as well as South Tyrolean bacon and what is known in Italy as Wurstel ( Viennese sausages ) under the Citterio brand .

The Salumeria, founded by Giuseppe Citterio in 1878, initially produced the Salame di Milano , which he invented .
