Ciudad Emergente

The Ciudad Emergente , also Festival Ciudad Emergente (in German: Up-and-coming City ), is a multi-day festival that has been held every summer since 2008 at several locations in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires .

The main sponsor is the city administration of Buenos Aires, the main venue is the Centro Cultural Recoleta . The program spans rock and pop music , poetry readings , photography , comedy and film .

Issue 1, 2008

The first festival took place from June 21 to 29, 2008. The film was u. a. Celebrate - Don't forget to go home by Maja Classen (2006).

Issue 2, 2009

Dates of the second festival: June 11th to 15th, 2009.

Issue 3, 2010

Third festival dates: June 2 to 6, 2010. For the first time, 130,000 participants were recorded.

Issue 4, 2011

Dates of the fourth festival: June 16-20, 2011 with 160,000 visitors.

Issue 5, 2012

Dates of the fifth festival: June 6-10, 2012 with 250,000 visitors.

Issue 6, 2013

The sixth festival dates: June 19-23, 2013 with 350,000 visitors over five days.

Issue 7, 2014

More than 250,000 visitors were expected for the seventh edition of the festival from June 4th to 8th, 2014, according to TN.com.ar even more than 300,000 visitors took part, while the festival management indicates the number of participants as over 350,000.

The musical framework program was presented in mid-May 2014. A highlight was the performance of the Fuerza Bruta show theater . The post-hardcore band Deny also had a gig on June 8, 2014 .

From May 21 to 23, 2014 the first Ciudad Emergente Festival took place in the city of Córdoba in Argentina.

Note: The festival should not be confused with the web-based urban development project Ciudad Emergente (CEM) founded in 2011 .
