Claire is a five-piece German electro-pop band from Munich .

Band history

Josie-Claire Bürkle

The three musicians and producers Matthias Hauck, Nepomuk Heller and Florian Kiermaier were looking for a singer for a film project in their joint recording studio in 2012 and contacted Josie-Claire Bürkle. After participating in The Voice of Germany the year before, she was looking for a band and so the band Claire emerged from the project . The fifth member was the drummer Fridolin Acht.

The first band production, an EP called Games , helped them sign a record deal with Universal . In the summer of 2013 they had their first notable success in the German charts with the title song of the EP. The band also performed at numerous German festivals, including the Melt .

Their debut LP entitled The Great Escape was released at the end of September and entered the album charts at number 38. Then Claire toured extensively through Germany. Some concerts were sold out quickly; a second date was added in Berlin.
