Claire Breton (born June 23, 1985 ) is a French biathlete .
Claire Breton made her international debut in 2004 in a Junior European Cup race in her native Méribel . Further races followed in 2007 in Haute-Maurienne , now in the general class, where she finished ninth in her first sprint as well as in the following pursuit race and scored her first points in the racing series. Breton reached the peak of her career so far in the summer of 2008 when she took part in the 2008 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Haute Maurienne and finished 17th in the sprint and 19th in the pursuit race in the roller ski competitions. Further international races followed in 2009/10 as part of the IBU Cup . In Haute Maurienne, she achieved her best result in the racing series to date, finishing 15th in a sprint. The following season brought Breton the chance to qualify for the Biathlon World Cup after several French world class runners retired . In Östersund she came to her first use at the beginning of the 2010/11 season and was 53rd in an individual. In Ruhpolding , she won World Cup points for the first time as 18th of an individual later in the season.
