Live and act

Nothing is currently known about the origins and artistic career of Claire Praetz, and no permanent engagements at the theater can be determined. The 27-year-old joined film in 1913 and for the next eight years worked with leading veterans of directing in Germany, including such well-known people as the Austrians Rudolf Meinert and Joe May , the German Franz Hofer and the French Charles Decroix . None of these films - mostly dramas and melodramas in which she portrayed good daughters from a good family or young wives - is artistically significant. After 1921, Claire Praetz's track is largely lost. In 1939/40 she temporarily returned to the screen with a short and a long film. Claire Praetz can be verified with a residential address in Berlin-Grunewald until 1961. From 1918 to 1934 she was married to the editor and writer Martin Proskauer .
