Clara Sudermann
Clara Sudermann (born February 14, 1861 in Königsberg as Clara Schulz, widowed Lauckner, † October 17, 1924 in Berlin ) was a German writer .
Life
In 1885 Clara Schulz married the hydraulic engineering director Wilhelm Lauckner, who died after only four years of marriage. In 1891, she married the East Prussian playwright Hermann Sudermann , who in 1927 described his own wife as the main character in the work The wife of Steffen Tromhold .
Clara brought three children into the marriage and had a daughter, Hede, with Sudermann. In 1902, the writer couple moved from Berlin to the castle-like and representative Brandenburger Landgut Blankensee on the Nieplitz river south of the capital. Clara Sudermann is buried in the Grunewald cemetery. Hermann Sudermann, her son, the writer Rolf Lauckner and his wife, the illustrator Elfriede Lauckner , later found their final resting place in the common grave site .
