Clare Kenny

Clare Kenny (born January 11, 1976 in Manchester ) is a British photography and object artist who lives and works in Basel and Manchester.

life and work

Clare Kenny grew up in Manchester, England. She studied at the Chelsea School of Art in London (Bachelor in Fine Art) and at the HSLU in Lucerne (Master in Art in Public Space). She has lived and worked in Basel, Switzerland, since 2007. Clare Kenny received the Art Credit Prize of the City of Basel in 2013 and 2017/18. She took part in the Residency Unlimited program in New York in 2018 , worked at the Institute for Provocation in Beijing in 2015 with the support of ProHelvetia and in Paris in 2013 (IAAB cite des Artes).

In 2016 she won the competition of the city of Basel for art in public space for a wall painting in the Gundeldinger Quartier . Her wall painting Site Unseen on the west wall of the property at Gundeldingerstrasse 311 was implemented in June 2016.
