Claris International Inc. (until August 2019 FileMaker, Inc. ) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Californian computer manufacturer Apple , which develops the FileMaker database software. FileMaker was founded in 1998 as the successor to Claris , which in turn was founded in 1987 as an offshoot of Apple.
history
Claris was dissolved in early 1998. The FileMaker Pro program was the basis of the newly founded company FileMaker, Inc.

- ClarisCAD, a CAD program
- Claris MacDraw , a drawing program
- Claris Em @ iler, an email program
- FileMaker, later FileMaker Pro , the dominant database program on the Macintosh platform
- Claris Home Page, an HTML editor
- Claris Impact, a presentation program
- Claris MacWrite Pro, a word processor
- Claris Organizer, a personal information manager
- Claris Resolve, a spreadsheet
- ClarisWorks, an office package later by Apple as AppleWorks was continued
- Claris MacPaint , an image editing program
From 2008 to 2013, the Bento personal database application was sold.
In August 2019, the company announced that it would be returning to the old company name Claris.
