Clarita Müller-Plantenberg

Clarita Müller-Plantenberg (born November 9, 1943 in Imshausen near Bebra as Clarita von Trott zu Solz ) is a German sociologist who mainly deals with Latin America and the politics and sociology of developing countries .

Life

Clarita Müller-Plantenberg was born as the daughter of Adam von Trott zu Solz and Clarita von Trott zu Solz . Tiefenbacher born. Between 1949 and 1961 she attended various schools in Berlin, Reinbek and Geneva. From 1961 she studied sociology with minor subjects economics and business administration at the University of Freiburg and at the Free University of Berlin. In 1968 she completed her diploma in sociology at the Free University of Berlin. Between 1970 and 1980 she was initially an assistant at the Institute for Sociology at the Free University of Berlin , then assistant professor at the Latin America Institute at the Free University of Berlin. In 1971 she obtained her doctorate in sociology. rer. pole. In 1978 she completed her habilitation in sociology at the then Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences I at the Free University of Berlin. From 1980 to 1981 she was initially a representative of a professorship at the Institute for Sociology at the Free University of Berlin, from 1981 until her retirement she was professor for sociology and political economy in developing countries at what is now the University of Kassel .

Numerous research stays lead Clarita Müller-Plantenberg to Latin America, especially to Ecuador, Chile, Colombia and Brazil.

She has been married to the sociologist Urs Müller-Plantenberg since 1966 , with whom she has two children.
