Claude Chirac

Claude Chirac (born December 6, 1962 in Paris ) is a French communications consultant and the youngest daughter of Jacques and Bernadette Chirac . In her job she works for various companies and also advised her father.

biography

Chirac first studied political science at the Institut Sainte-Marie de Neuilly and the Institut de La Tour , then switched to the University of Panthéon-Assas , where she studied economics. While she was still a student, she was photographed by a photographer and the pictures were published in Elle fashion magazine . In 1988 she began her career as a public relations officer for Euro RSCG (now Havas Worldwide).

During Jacues Chirac's tenure as Mayor of Paris, and later during his presidency, Claude advised her father on public relations issues. She always accompanied him to events or on trips.

In 2007, Chirac accepted a position as director of corporate communications at the fashion company Kering , founded by François Pinault, a close friend of her father's. In 2012 she became President of the Chirac Foundation, founded by her father . In the French presidential elections in 2012, she supported the candidate François Hollande .

Private

Claude Chirac had a relationship with actor Vincent Lindon in the 1980s . In 1992 she married the political scientist Philippe Habert , who died suddenly just a few months later. Their son Martin, born in 1996, comes from a relationship with the judoka Thierry Rey . Since 2011 she has been married to the former Secretary General of the French Presidential Chancellery, Frédéric Salat-Barroux.
