Claudia Caviezel

Claudia Caviezel (* 1977 in Zug ) is a Swiss textile designer and artist .

Live and act

Claudia Caviezel attended school in Zug from 1984 to 1997 and, in addition to the Swiss Matura, also has a high school degree (1995) from Oceanside (USA). From 1997 to 2002 she studied textile design at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts , and in 2009 she received a Master of Arts in design from the European Design Labs in Madrid .

She works on interdisciplinary projects that range from public spaces such as cinema , retail and hospitality to luxury textiles for haute couture and household to products for the home such as carpets , pottery and furniture . Her large-scale murals, which she developed for the House of Switzerland as part of the Expo 2017 in Astana (Kazakhstan), among others, are particularly striking . Since 2010 she has also worked for the Swiss luxury fashion house Akris . In 2018 Claudia Caviezel became a member of the Swiss Federal Design Commission (FDC). She lives in St. Gallen .
