Claudia Fräss-Ehrfeld

Claudia Fräss-Ehrfeld , b. Kromer (born January 19, 1944 in Althofen ) is an Austrian historian. Her mother was Imma Cerny († 2007).

Claudia Fräss-Ehrfeld completed her studies from 1963 to 1968 at the Universities of Vienna , Harvard and Yale from the University of Vienna with a doctorate in philosophy. From 1968 to 1976 she worked as a historian at the Carinthian State Museum in Klagenfurt.

In addition, she was a long-time delegate for Carinthia in the Austrian Castle Association . Since 1997 she has been director of the History Association for Carinthia , and also a member of the Carinthian cultural committee and the Austrian-Slovenian historians' commission of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

In 2019 Fräss-Ehrfeld received the Paracelsusring of the city of Villach.

Fräss-Ehrfeld has been married to the industrialist Ernst Fräss-Ehrfeld since 1972 and has three children and several grandchildren. Through her husband (whose ancestors called themselves Edle von Ehrfeld ) there is a family connection to the Austrian writer Alexander Lernet-Holenia .
