Claudia Kemper

Claudia Kemper (* 1973 in Erkelenz ) is a German historian .

Life

After working (1993–2000) Claudia Kemper studied modern and middle history and political science at the University of Hamburg from 2000 to 2005 , where she obtained a master's degree. As a scholarship holder of the German Literature Archive Marbach (2008) and research assistant at the University of Hamburg (2006–2009), she wrote her dissertation “The enemy is not on the right. The enemy is not on the left. He is in us. ”The conscience under the aegis of Arthur Moeller van den Bruck 1919–25: A bio-bibliographical intellectual and media history by the editors and authors with which she received her doctorate in 2009 . She obtained her Master of Higher Education (MoHE) at the Center for Higher Education Didactic Further Education at the University of Hamburg in 2010. In 2011 she was a fellowship at the German Historical Institute in Washington . From 2009 to 2014 she worked as a research assistant at the Research Center for Contemporary History in Hamburg with a DFG-funded post-doctoral project on the subject of doctors in the anti-nuclear peace movement of the 1980s - the West German section of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War ( IPPNW ) . She has been a scientist at the Hamburg Institute for Social Research since April 2014 . After her habilitation in 2015 in the subject of modern history at the University of Hamburg, she represented the professorship for modern and contemporary history at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg from March to September 2015 . In the summer semester of 2016 she represented the Chair of European History and Colonial History at the University of Cologne .

Her work focuses on historical peace and conflict research, the history of experts and science, contemporary European and transatlantic history, the history of ideas, media and communication, and organizational history.
