Claudia Rath (writer)

Claudia Rath (* 1964 in Wuppertal ) is a German writer . She published a number of novels as well as short stories and cabaret texts in German .

Rath studied social work and worked in this profession for several years. Later she began to study philosophy , psychology and sociology , but from 1997 she devoted herself to her work as a writer. At first she lived with her companion on the edge of the Ruhr area and later moved to East Friesland .

Her first novel, The Midland Prophecy , was published in 2000. It is the first of the six fantasy novels in their Midland saga , whose medieval -looking, magical world is populated exclusively by women alongside animals, mythical creatures and the monstrous , threatening Worraks and whose human cosmos does not have a fixed, two-part gender order . Her book A Secret Story , published in 2003, is a psychological relationship novel that takes up the taboo subject of violence in lesbian relationships. Her last novel Spur zum Fjord , published in 2007 and so far , in which the lesbian love of the main characters also plays a role, is about self-proclaimed gurus and the business of human longings and has detective features.
