Claudio Rivero , full name Claudio Domingo Rivero Rodríguez , (born April 14, 1985 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.82 meter tall midfielder Rivero played for Centro Atlético Fénix since 2005 . In the 2009/10 season he completed 29 first division games (no goal) with the Montevideans. He then moved to Israel to see Hapoel Ramat Gan . From his first appearance on August 28, 2010 to his last game on November 13, 2010, he played a total of nine games (no goal) in the Ligat ha'Al . At the beginning of 2011 he returned to Fénix and played in the 2011 Clausura in 13 Primera División games . He was just as unsuccessful in scoring as in his 14 first division appearances in the Apertura 2011 and the two matches in the Copa Sudamericana 2011 . In the first days of January 2012 Rivero was loaned to the Chilean club CD Antofagasta . There he was used in 28 games in the Primera División and four times in the Copa Chile . He did not score a hit at this career station either. Since the beginning of 2013 he was back in the ranks of Fénix. 13 first division appearances in the Clausura 2013 show the statistics for this renewed engagement with the Montevideans. At the end of July 2013, his further career path led to Europe. Panionios Athens was now his employer. With the Greeks, however, he only came to two league short appearances (no goal) and ran once in the national cup competition. From the beginning of 2014 he continued his career in Peru at Club Sportivo Cienciano . By the end of the year, he had played 26 games in the Primera División and scored one goal. He was also used twelve times (one goal) in the Copa Inca . In the first half of 2015 he was under contract with Deportivo Quito . He played 17 games (one goal) in Primera A for the Ecuadorians . In June 2015, he joined the Colombian club Deportivo Pasto . After five first division appearances and one game in the Copa Colombia , he moved back to Fénix in mid-January 2016. In the 2016 Clausura he was used ten times (no goal) in the Primera División with the Montevideans. In July 2016, he joined Fénix's league rivals Defensor Sporting , for whom he played in eleven top division games (no goal) in the 2016 season. During the current 2017 season he has so far (as of February 9, 2017) played once (no goal) in the league.
