Copa Inca

The Copa Inca, also called Torneo del Inca, is a cup competition in which Peruvian clubs are allowed to participate. The tournament was held for the first time in 2011 under the name Torneo Intermedio. In 2014 and 2015 the tournament was held again with fewer participants and a new mode.

Previous tournaments

2011

32 teams participated in the first orientation of the tournament in part, of which 16 teams from the first division of Peru, the Primera Division , five teams of the second division of Peru, the Segunda Division, as well as eleven other teams from lower leagues, extending across the Copa Peru qualified had. The tournament was played in knockout mode . In the final, the club Jose Galvez FBC was able to prevail with a 1-1 in the first leg and a 6-2 in the second leg against Sport Áncash .

2014

In 2014 the tournament was held under the name Copa Inca. The field of participants was limited to 16 clubs that compete in the first division of Peru. The finalists were determined in two groups of eight teams each. The group winners Alianza Lima and Universidad San Martin met in the final. After 90 minutes of play it was 2-2 after extra time 3-3. In the penalty shootout to Alianza Lima won out 5-3.

2015

In 2015 all 17 first division clubs in Peru took part. The teams were divided into 3 groups with 6 participants each, with the exception of one group with five teams. The group winners and the best runner-up teams qualified for the semi-finals. In the final, defending champions Alianza Lima and Universidad César Vallejo faced each other. With a 3-1 win, Universidad César Vallejo became the third Copa Inca winner.
