Claudio Ariel Yacob (born July 18, 1987 in Carcarañá , Santa Fe ) is an Argentine football player who has been under contract with the Uruguayan first division club Nacional Montevideo since 2020 .

Career

Claudio Yacob played at Racing Club Avellaneda in his youth and joined the professional team there in the summer of 2006. On November 8, 2006, he made his debut playing against CA Banfield . In 2012 he moved to the English Premier League at West Bromwich Albion . After 160 league games and a 1-1 goal against Arsenal on October 6, 2013, his contract, which expired at the end of the 2017/18 season, was not extended, so he was initially without a club. In September 2018 he joined the second division Nottingham Forest .

National team

Yacob made 13 appearances for the Argentine U-20 national team and scored one goal. With this team he won the 2007 Junior World Cup in Canada. For the Argentine national soccer team he was used by coach Sergio Batista twice in 2011 in friendly matches against Venezuela (4: 1) and Ecuador (2: 2). In the game against Ecuador, Yacob was able to score the goal for a 1-1 equalizer.
