Claudius Crönert

Claudius Crönert (* 1961 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist and author .

life and work

Crönert grew up in his hometown Hamburg. He studied philosophy and art history at the Free University of Berlin .

He works both as a journalist (political correspondent, author of radio reports, articles for periodicals and articles on the subject of film) and as a writer. Here he wrote scripts, historical novels and crime novels. He also publishes detective novels under the pseudonym Carl Rath.

As part of his activities for the Phoenix broadcaster , Crönert took a firm stand against right-wing populist positions by Gottfried Curio ( AfD ).

Awards

For his novel Freyas Land (2015) he was awarded a prize for historical literature, the Golden Homer , in 2016.
