Claudius Ditlev Fritzsch , also Claudius Detlev Fritzsch , (born June 10, 1765 in Kiel , † November 27, 1841 in Copenhagen ) was a German - Danish painter .
Life
Claudius Ditlev Fritzsch was a son of the Kiel master mason Johann Christopher Fritzsch and his wife Elsabe Catharina Brammer. In 1786 he went to Copenhagen with Gerhard Ludvig Lahde, who was of the same age, and initially worked in gouache and watercolor; later he submitted paintings to the academy . He created gouaches from the fire of Christiansborg Palace (1794) and the city of Copenhagen (1795), which his friend GL Lahde engraved in copper. In 1801 Fritzsch painted the naval battle against the English off Copenhagen . He later turned to flower painting and thus became the model of Johannes Ludvig Camradt (1779–1849).
