Claus-Christian Timmermann (* 1947 ) is a German electrical engineer and university professor.

Life

Timmermann passed the Abitur at the Hölty-Gymnasium in Wunstorf . He completed his studies in electrical engineering at the TU Braunschweig in 1971 with a degree in engineering. He then worked there until 1975 as a research assistant at the Institute for High Frequency Technology under Hans-Georg Unger . In 1975 he received his PhD in signal transmission with multi-wave gradient fibers . PhD. He worked at Bosch in Darmstadt until 1979 . In the same year he received the professorship for high frequency technology and optical communication technology at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences , at that time still the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences. From 1985 to 2012 he headed the Institute for High Frequency Technology and Optical Communication Technology, and has been an adviser since then. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and, since 1992, the New York Academy of Sciences .
