Hans-Georg Unger

Hans-Georg Unger (born September 14, 1926 in Braunschweig ) is a German engineer and electrical engineer. He was a professor for high frequency technology at the Technical University of Braunschweig .

Life

After attending the Gauss School , he studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig from 1946 to 1951.

From 1951 to 1955 he was a development engineer and head of the laboratory for microwave research at Siemens AG , Munich. 1954 graduated as Dr.-Ing.

After four years at the Bell Laboratories in the USA , in which he laid the foundations for communication via microwaves through waveguides, he accepted a full professorship at the Technical University of Braunschweig as head of the newly founded institute for high frequency technology.

He received honorary doctorates from the Technical University of Munich (1985), the University of Ulm (1992) and the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg (1993). He is a member of the Braunschweig Scientific Society and the Polish Academy of Sciences .
