Claus Jensen (born April 29, 1977 in Nykøbing Falster , Denmark ) is a former Danish football player .
Career
Jensen started his professional career at Næstved BK , where he was brought into the first team squad in 1995 after being sold there by Lolland-Falster alliances . In 1996 he moved to another second division club Lyngby BK , with whom he made promotion to the first division in 1997. After a season in the top Danish division, he moved to England in 1998 to the then first division relegated Bolton Wanderers .
In his first season in England he was sixth in the championship (second division). In the promotion playoff, however, Watford FC prevailed. In the second season you could also reach sixth place, this time Ipswich Town made the rise. In 2000 he moved to Charlton Athletic , who fixed promotion in 1999/20 as champions of the championship. In the first season he was with Charlton immediately ninth, with Jensen, after he was also a regular at Bolton, there was a regular. After quite mixed seasons, he finished seventh in the Premier League with the athletes in his final season .
In 2004 it went to Fulham FC . In the first season the club was 13th. In his last season as an active player, Jensen finished 16th with Fulham FC and was able to prevent relegation.

He was also in the Danish squad for the 2004 European Football Championship in Portugal . Jensen was substituted on in the group matches against Italy and Bulgaria . In the quarter-final defeat against the Czech Republic , he played until the 71st minute before he was substituted for Peter Madsen .
