Claus Peter Wittig

Claus Peter Wittig ( 1949 in Jettingen - 2007 ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

life and work

Wittig was born in the district of Günzburg and completed an apprenticeship as a banker before graduating from Cologne University of Applied Sciences in 1978 to study fine arts. He then studied philosophy, political science and education at the University of Cologne . Between 1981 and 1984 he organized the art space “Im Klapperhof” with Jiří Georg Dokoupil .

Wittig comes from the environment of the Neue Wilden in Cologne and Düsseldorf. He lived and worked in Cologne.
