Claus Rautenstrauch (born February 21, 1961 in Elmshorn ; † November 26, 2008 in Burg (near Magdeburg) ) was a German business IT specialist .

Life

After studying computer science with a minor in business administration in Dortmund , he worked there from 1988 as a research assistant and until 1992 also in Münster , Vienna and Konstanz . In 1992 he received his doctorate in economics and social sciences at the Technical University of Dortmund with the thesis Integration Engineering - a proposal to expand software engineering for business application systems . He then worked as a research assistant at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster until he received a teaching position for production logistics at the Vienna University of Economics in 1995 . In the same year he completed his habilitation at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster with the habilitation thesis Specialized concept for a production and recycling planning and control system (PRPS system) Venia legendi for business informatics . In 1996 he received a substitute professorship for information management at the University of Konstanz and finally he became professor for business informatics at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in 1997 .

Act

At Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg, he set up the business informatics course and participated in the establishment of a German-Syrian university in Syria, the Wadi German Syrian University (WGSU), which started in 2005 with a faculty for computer science and business . In Cuba, he was involved in setting up courses in business and environmental informatics.

At the University of Magdeburg he founded and headed the SAP Higher Education Center (HCC) and the Very Large Business Applications Lab (VLBA Lab).
