Claus Schöndube (born December 23, 1927 - January 29, 2007 ) was a German journalist .

Career

In 1951 he was co-founder of the Europa-Haus Marienberg association in Marienberg in the Westerwald , which he helped shape and to which he remained connected for over five decades until his death. As a European from the very beginning, he did valuable educational work for the idea of ​​a united Europe.

As a correspondent he reported for the Westdeutscher Rundfunk and other media from the European Parliament and was a staunch bearer of the European idea.

Claus Schöndube was a member of the Presidium of the Europa Union Deutschland and Vice-President of the Union of European Federalists.

Among other things, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .

His grave in the main cemetery in Frankfurt (grave XIV urn garden graves) is a listed building .
