Claus Volkenandt
Claus Volkenandt (* 1963 in Bochum ) is a German art historian .
Life
He studied art history, philosophy and new German literature in Bochum and Basel ( licentiate in 1991 , doctorate in 1997 ). From 1997 to 2002 and from 2004 to 2006 he was an assistant at the Art History Department of the University of Basel , Modern Art History ( Habilitation 2007). Since 2006 he has held regular teaching positions at the University of Lucerne (sociological seminar), at the Zeppelin University (for cultural history) and at the Art History Institute of the Ruhr University in Bochum . Since 2012 he has been teaching as a professor for art history at the University of Witten / Herdecke .
His work focuses on Dutch art of the 17th century, classical modern and contemporary art, the history and theory of art history, intercultural art history and questions of image history.
