The Claygate Parmäne is an apple cultivar . It was found at Claygate , Surrey , England around 1822 .

The apple was found by John Braddick in a hedge near Claygate. J. Braddick also found the Braddick Nonpareil (German: Braddick special equals) around the same time in the same place. The apple was a popular edible apple in Victorian times and spread throughout England and America .

This medium-sized apple is similar in color to a gray autumn tenette with a carmine-red washed out color on the sunny side. It has a pink-silvery hue on the shell. It has a nutty aromatic taste and good storage properties and is resistant to diseases such as scab .
