Clemens A. Wurm

Clemens August Wurm (born September 7, 1942 in Schönau , Olpe district ) is a German historian .

Life

Attending elementary school in Schonau 1949-1954 and the Municipal Gymnasium in Olpe Neusprachliches 1954-1963 joined in 1963 and 1969, a study of the subjects of history, French, English, pedagogy and philosophy at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster in which he with graduated from the First State Philological Examination. After that, Wurm was the administrator of the official business of a research assistant at the History Department of the University of Münster. In 1971 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. 1971–1974 he was a habilitation scholarship holder of the Volkswagenwerk Foundation and 1974–1977 research assistant at the historical seminar of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . From 1977 to 1984 he was a research assistant at the Ruhr University Bochum in the Central Social Science Seminar. In the 1983/84 winter semester, he completed his habilitation in political science at the Faculty of Social Science at the Ruhr University in Bochum. From 1984 to 1986 he was professor (on a temporary basis) for foreign policy in western industrialized countries at the Faculty of Social Science at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and was appointed professor for political science in October 1986 (with special attention to the history of the European state system and German foreign policy in the 19th . and 20th century) appointed to the Free University of Berlin . From 1992 to 2007 he taught as a professor for Western European history at the Institute for History at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 1993 he was a visiting fellow at St Antony's College , Oxford .
