Clemens August Anton von Ketteler zu Harkotten (born February 21, 1751 in Füchtorf ; † 1815 ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Clemens August Anton von Ketteler zu Harkotten came from the Westphalian noble family von Ketteler and was the son of Goswin Lubbert von Ketteler zu Harkotten and his wife Bernardina Dorothea von Korff zu Harkotten. His brothers Matthias Benedikt and Wilhelm Arnold were canons in Münster, as was his uncle Clemens August von Ketteler of the same name .

Career and work

In 1770, the Elector Maximilian Friedrich awarded Clemens August Anton a cathedral priest in Münster , where he was sworn up on September 4, 1770 . He was a sub-deacon . As early as 1778 he renounced the benefice in favor of his brother Matthias Benedikt. He married the daughter of Wilhelm Ferdinand von Galen , Maria Anna von Galen, widow of Count Clemens August von Plettenberg. The son Maximilian von Ketteler , district administrator in Warendorf, comes from the marriage .
