Maximilian Friedrich Ludwig Alexander Clemens Joseph Maria Anton Freiherr von Ketteler (born September 25, 1779 in Münster , † July 30, 1832 in Bad Ems ) was a Prussian district administrator in the Warendorf district and landowner.

Life

Origin and family

Maximilian von Ketteler was born as the son of the married couple Clemens August von Ketteler (* 1751, † 1815) and Maria Anna von Galen , w. von Plettenberg - Nordkirchen (* 1752, † 1829) the Westphalian Uradel Ketteler . He was entertainer at Harkotten Castle and married Clementine Franziska Freiin von der Wenge zu Beck on March 10, 1801 in Münster (see Beck Castle and Wenge House ). The marriage had ten children. Clemens and Wilderich became politicians and Wilhelm Emmanuel was Bishop of Mainz .

Professional background

In 1802 he received his appointment to the Münster Drosten von Sassenberg. On February 18, 1804, he was appointed provisional district administrator of the Warendorf district and on January 16, 1817, he was finally appointed district administrator of the Warendorf district. On October 22nd, 1817 he was released from civil service at his own request because the difficult administration of his property no longer allowed him to carry out official business. The Warendorf district council unanimously voted him again on December 20, 1831 as the first candidate for the district administration. This cleared the way for the third definitive appointment as District Administrator of the Warendorf district on February 5, 1832. From 1826 to 1831 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of Westphalia for the status of knighthood and the electoral district of East Münster . He was appointed chamberlain .
