The Clifford Peak is a 1,160 m high mountain on the Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises at the northeast end of the Osterrieth Range .
He was sighted for the first time probably during the Belgica expedition (1897-1899) under the direction of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery . The crew of HMS Snipe named him in January 1948 after Geoffrey Miles Clifford (1897–1986), Governor of the Falkland Islands from 1946 to 1954.
