Clive Hollick, Baron Hollick
Clive Hollick Richard, Baron Hollick (* 20th May 1945 in Southampton ) is a British media manager , entrepreneur and politician of the Labor Party , which since 1991 as Peer Life Member of the House of Lords is.
Life
After attending the Richard Taunton Grammar School, Hollick completed a degree in political science , psychology and sociology at the University of Nottingham . He began his professional career in 1967 at Hambros Bank and in 1973 he became the youngest member of the board in the history of this bank, which was founded in 1839, and was a member of the board until 1996. He later started working for the media company United Business Media plc (UBM plc) and was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) until 2005 . In 1988 he was the founder of the think tank Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR).
By a letters patent dated June 20, 1991, Hollick was elevated to the nobility as a life peer with the title Baron Hollick , of Notting Hill in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea . Shortly after its introduction was carried out ( Introduction ) as a member of the House of Lords . In the House of Lords he belongs to the Labor Party faction .
Subsequently, Lord Hollick was Special Advisor to the President of the Board of Trade between 1997 and 1998 and a board member of TRW Inc. from 2000 to 2002 and then of the South Bank between 2002 and 2008. At the same time, he was a partner in the holding company Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. from 2005 to 2008 and then a senior consultant of this company until 2010. In the course of his professional life he was also a board member of the drinks company Diageo , Honeywell Inc , the private television broadcaster ProSieben and the music rights management company BMG Rights Management .
