Clive Williams Nicol
Clive Williams Nicol (born July 17, 1940 in Neath Port Talbot , Great Britain , † April 3, 2020 in Japan), mostly CW Nicol , was a Welsh- Japanese writer .
In 1958 Nicol took part in an arctic expedition to research the eider duck and lived for two years in Ethiopia , where he helped set up the Simien National Park . He also worked as a controller for the Canadian government on Japanese whaling ships .
He had obtained Japanese citizenship and lived in Japan. His interest was in Japanese culture , especially the martial art karate . He started learning judo at the age of 15 . He was also very active in nature conservation .
