The Cloudy Peak Range is a mountain range in the Canterbury region of the South Island of New Zealand .
geography
The Cloudy Peak Range is between the Havelock River to the west and the Clyde River to the east. It is bordered to the west by the Two Thumb Range , to the north by the glacier region of the New Zealand Alps , to the east by the Froude Range , the Amouty Range , the Jollie Range and the Potts Range and at the southern tip by the confluence of the Havelock River with the Clyde River , which together form the Rangitata River .
The mountain range, which is around 21 km long and runs in a north-northwest-south-southeast direction, finds its highest point in Cloudy Peak at 2403 m . 40 other peaks of the mountain range are over 2000 m .
Administratively, the Cloudy Peak Range belongs to the Ashburton District .
