The Potts Range is a mountain range in the Canterbury region of the South Island of New Zealand .
geography
The Potts Range is located northeast of the confluence of the Havelock and Clyde Rivers and the associated formation of the Rangitata River . The western side of the Potts Range is bounded from north to south by the Lawrence River , Clyde River and Rangitata River , with the Jollie Range , Cloudy Peak Range and Two Thumb Range behind . In the northeast, however, the Potts Range is continued in the Arrowsmith Range and in the east the Potts River separates the mountains from the Big Hill Range .
The approximately 22 km long mountain range, which runs in an arc from southeast over west to northeast, finds its highest point at 2184 m high Mount Potts . Ten other peaks of the mountain range are over 2000 m .
Administratively, the Potts Range belongs to the Ashburton District .
