Club Uruguay
The Club Uruguay is a building in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .
The building, which was built between 1886 and 1888, is located in Ciudad Vieja on Calle Sarandí 582-586 between Juan Carlos Gómez and Ituzaingó streets on the south side of Plaza Matriz . The building was designed in 1885 by the Italian engineer Luigi Andreoni . The symmetrical architecture of the building is assigned to eclecticism and contains references to the Renaissance , Mannerism and Baroque.
Since 1975 the building has been classified as the Monumento Histórico Nacional .
