development

Clustertruck development began in September 2015 after development of Landfall Games ' previous game , Square Brawl , was completed. The game was officially unveiled on December 16, 2015 with a trailer and a release date of April 2016. At PAX South 2016, it was announced that Landfall Games has signed a publishing deal with tinyBuild . This deal prompted developers to postpone the release date to the third quarter of 2016. The CEO of landfall Games, Wilhelm Nylund, said that "the game was originally as a small project with a short development thought," but changed his mind and looked at the game as a delayed even more because it "more and more traction wins". As an April Fool's joke , Landfall released a free demo version of Clustertruck called Supertruck , which incorporated the visual style and mechanics of the recently released Superhot , where time only moves forward within the game as the game character moves.

Landfall gave preview copies of the game to various YouTube - and Twitch - streamers to promote the title. The game was released on September 27, 2016.
