Code: Breaker ( proper spelling : CØDE: BREAKER, Japanese コ ー ド: ブ レ イ カ ー , Kōdo: Bureikā ) is a manga series by the Japanese artist Akimine Kamijō , which was published in Japan from 2008 to 2013. It was adapted as an anime television series and translated into several languages. The work can be classified into the genres of action, romance and comedy.

The student Sakura Sakurakōji ( 桜 小路 桜 ) watches from the bus as her classmate Rei Ōgami ( 大 神 零 ) lets people go up in blue flames in the park. But when she later returns to the place, she finds no reference to what happened. When she confronts Rei, she learns that it is part of a secret government organization and a so-called code: Breaker, a hit man with supernatural abilities. Now that she has learned this, Sakura herself soon finds herself in danger.

Manga
The series has been published in Weekly Shōnen Magazine by Kōdansha in Japan since June 2008 . The last chapter in the series is slated to be published on July 17, 2013 in the 33rd issue of the magazine.
The chapters have also been published in 26 anthologies so far, each of which has sold over 40,000 times.
In Egmont Manga and anime since November 2009, a German translation of the series appears. In the translation by Björn Oke Maas, 25 volumes have been published so far. At Del Rey , an English version appears at Pika Édition the French and Chinese at Tong Li.
Anime television series
In 2012, the Kinema Citrus studio produced a thirteen-part anime television series based on the manga, directed by Yasuhiro Irie . The series concept and script came from Yasuhiro Irie, while Yukie Akitani created the character design. Toshiki Nishi was responsible for the artistic direction.
Since October 7, 2012 after midnight (and thus the previous TV day , the series was first broadcast by the broadcaster MBS ), as well as with up to one offset from Tokyo MX , TVQ Kyushu , TV Aichi and nationwide via BS-11 .

The music for the series was composed by Takayuki Hattori . The opening credits were underlaid with Dark Shame by Granrodeo and the closing title is Shiroi Karasu ( シ ロ イ カ ラ ス ) by Ken'ichi Suzumura.
