Weekly Shōnen Magazine ( Japanese 週刊 少年 マ ガ ジ ン , Shūkan Shōnen Magajin ) is a Japanese manga magazine aimed at boys between the ages of 10 and 15 ( Shōnen ).

The magazine is published weekly (Wednesdays) by Kōdansha- Verlag at a price of 240 yen . The main part of the magazine is made up of various chapters of manga series and manga short stories. These are often action-packed fantasy stories like RAVE or romantic relationship and mix-up comedies like Love Hina .

The first issue of Shōnen Magazine appeared on March 17, 1959 (postdated to March 26, today the issues are usually postponed 14 days). In the years that followed, it became one of the most popular weekly manga magazines, and especially series such as Ashita no Joe helped the magazine to achieve a high circulation rate. In 2005 it had a circulation of 2,300,000 copies per issue. Although this means a decrease compared to the previous year, the Shōnen Magazine is next to the Weekly Shōnen Jump the best-selling manga magazine.
