Life

He studied at the Kamakura Gakuen . The illustrator, who was influenced by Tatsuya Egawa , the author of Golden Boy and others of his manga, published his first manga with the short story Love You in 1989 in the manga magazine Fresh! . In the same year he began to draw his first longer manga entitled Adesugata Junjō Boy for Shōnen Magazine , in which, among other things, Hajime no Ippo by George Morikawa and Love Hina by Ken Akamatsu appeared.

From 1990 to 1996 he worked on Shōnan Jun'ai-gumi! which comprises over 5000 pages. Between 1994 and 1997 five episodes of an original video animation based on this manga were released in Japan . A kind of successor to Shōnan Jun'ai-gumi! is his next manga series, Great Teacher Onizuka , which will be his biggest hit to date. In it he describes the life of a young, unemployed man who gets a job as a teacher. The manga, often abbreviated as GTO , was filmed into a 43-part anime series and a 12-part television drama . Fujisawa won the 1998 Kodansha Manga Prize in the Shōnen category for Great Teacher Onizuka , which ended in 2002 after more than 4500 pages .

Since graduating from Great Teacher Onizuka , Fujisawa has drawn Rose Hip Rose for Manga magazine Young Magazine Uppers, among others . He continued the story in Rose Hip Zero and Magnum Rose Hip . While his baseball manga Wild Baseballers, like most of his other works, was first published in Shōnen Magazine , Tokkō , for which a 13-part anime adaptation was created in 2006, appeared from 2003 to 2004 in Afternoon magazine, which was aimed at an older readership directs.

His works are translated into German, English, French, Italian, Chinese, Polish and Swedish, among others.
